In this blog, we’ll go over everything you need to know about your electronic membership card.
This is the card containing all your details as a GetSavvi Health member. It includes your and your dependants’ personal info, your member details and important contact numbers.
You, as the principal member, will get your own card. Your spouse will get a separate card. If you have children, their details will appear on your card (up to five children). If you have additional children, you’ll be issued with another card.
We’ll send your electronic membership card with your membership pack via email. Simply download the card onto your cellphone for future use.
When your card has been emailed to you, you may use it to access your benefits immediately. Please note that certain benefits have waiting periods, so you may only access those benefits after their waiting periods have elapsed.
It’s important to keep your GetSavvi Health electronic membership card with you at all times. You, your spouse or dependants will need to present the card when visiting a network service provider. You won’t be able to access your benefits if you don’t have your card.
For example, if you have access to GP visits, present your electronic membership card to the receptionist and GetSavvi Health will cover the consultation and medication.
Or if you’re in need of emergency medical services or advice, after you’ve called the emergency number, emergency services will ask you for your membership number after which they will provide you will medical advice and/or ambulance services, whichever you require.
Another example is if you’re visiting a network pharmacy for a consultation or to collect medication, simply present the card on your phone to the pharmacist.
You, as the principal member, may request a replacement electronic card/s in the following instances, if you:

If you require a physical membership card/s, you’ll be charged a once-off fee of R50 per card. Please note that we rely on the South African Post Office so we cannot guarantee prompt delivery of your card/s.
