Karen and Leon Corbett’s son had suffered from painful teeth for most of his young life. But with the proper dental treatment, that trying time finally ended on a positive note. Karen opened up about the experience.
1.) What dental problems did your son have?
Soon after my son got his first teeth, they started to rot and deteriorate. He’s had tooth problems for about six years. He’s seven now.
Most dentists said that because he still had milk teeth, it would not be feasible to extract them because the permanent teeth would grow out skew, and that he should just take medication for the pain.
2.) How did you get the treatment your son needed?
We haven’t been able to until my husband signed up with GetSavvi Health. Then we finally found a dentist who was willing to work with his mouth.
3.) What was the problem with your son’s teeth?
He had an abscess in his mouth. The antibiotics he was on couldn’t take the abscess away.
4.) What treatment did you son get at the dentist?
The dentist first took X-rays. Then he extracted the tooth with the abscess and one of the other teeth that was severely damaged.
5.) How long did the treatment take?
Everything was sorted out in one session which was what made it so amazing, because all the other dentists told us that it would require surgery and putting on anesthetic.
6.) Did GetSavvi Health cover all the costs?
They covered absolutely everything which helped even more because, at that point, we were desperate.
7.) How do you feel after your son’s treatment?
I’m extremely happy and relieved because he’d been crying about his teeth being painful. He couldn’t eat or drink. And he had ear ache continuously. But as soon as his teeth had been sorted out, he’s been eating me out of house... it’s wonderful.

If it wasn’t for GetSavvi Health I’d still be struggling with my son. It’s been an absolute blessing. We didn’t think that it was going to be that helpful, but it has gone above and beyond our expectations.

10.) Are there any other comments you’d like to make?
We did have a complaint about medication for my son, because the chemist wasn’t certain what they were allowed to dispense, but in less than a day it was sorted out. So it was extremely customer friendly. We have no complaints whatsoever. GetSavvi Health is an awesome insurance to be part of.
