Our Nurse Consultations benefit gives you convenient access to professional healthcare advice when you’re not feeling well.
Speak to a qualified nurse anytime for guidance on your symptoms, and where appropriate, receive a voucher to help you purchase recommended over-the-counter medication.
What this benefit offers:
24/7 Nurses Advice Line
- Unlimited, anytime telephonic access to qualified nurses, 365 days a year
- Advice on general symptoms, medication, chronic conditions, post-surgical support and emergency triage
- Dedicated support for different life stages, including Mother & Baby, Kids, Teen & Young Adult, and Women’s
- Follow-up calls on request
- Access to a South African drug and poison reference database
- Referrals to appropriate healthcare professionals where required
Pharmacy Voucher
- Following a nurse assessment, a voucher may be issued for minor ailments such as colds and flu, headaches, allergies, muscle strain and more
- The voucher is issued for a specific incident and is valued at up to R200
- Vouchers can be redeemed at Clicks or Dis-Chem within 48 hours of issue
- Members are encouraged to choose generic medication where appropriate to get the most value from the voucher
- Vouchers are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and do not roll over annually
How does the Nurse Consultation benefit work?
- Contact our Call Centre on 0861 18 92 02 and follow the prompts and speak to a qualified nurse. The nurse will assess your symptoms and determine whether a pharmacy voucher is appropriate.
- If approved, a voucher code will be issued to you within 30 minutes. Voucher codes are issued during office hours, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.
- Visit the over-the-counter section at Clicks or Dis-Chem and select the recommended medication.
- At checkout, present your voucher code to the teller. The applicable saving, up to the voucher's maximum value of R200, will be deducted from your purchase.
Note:
- No coverage for chronic/long-term conditions, prescription medication, or cosmetics/toiletries.
- Lost/expired vouchers aren't reissued, and members must keep proof of purchase for 5 days for audit purposes.
- The Nurses Advice Line is available 24/7. Pharmacy vouchers are only issued following a nurse assessment and during office hours. Vouchers are valid for 48 hours from the time of issue.
- 15 consultations per policy per annum.
