Getting Help

Mental Health

Asking for help is sometimes hard! Let's break the stigma and create mental health awareness.

If you’re suffering from depression or anxiety, being abused or hurt, or are struggling to cope, don’t be afraid to get help:

Here is a list of individuals or professionals you can reach out to:

  • A family member: If you're having trouble with anxiety or even suicidal thoughts, open up to a family member you can trust.

  • A person in authority: If you’re young and suspect that you might be depressed, speak to a teacher, parent or another person in authority.
  • The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG): SADAG is Africa's largest mental health support and advocacy group. They’re committed to quality counselling, outreach and capacity building work throughout South Africa. Visit SADAG’s website for a list of helplines.
